It’s time to celebrate! We have reached a great milestone: the 10 Year Anniversary of Propeller Dance!
We have been hard at work preparing for this exciting time. You’ll see from the fabulous line-up of our upcoming performances and events that 2017 is our most ambitious year yet!
Our 10th Anniversary coincides with the launch of our most ambitious work to date, Living the unDesirable Life. The creation of Living the undesirable Life is made possible in large part by the Canada Council’s New Chapter Funding Program. This is the largest ever single grant awarded to us. Not only are we grateful for the financial support from the Canada Council, but this grant also underscores how very far we’ve come in our ten years. It is a testament to the quality of our artistry and a marker of the impact our work has had on a national scale.
What’s up next for Propeller Dance? As we look towards our next ten years, what do we imagine is possible? As a leader in integrated, contemporary professional dance in Canada we will:
- continue to provide dancers of all abilities a stage where they can create, perform, and learn
- engage with a wider audience, reaching more people not only in person but also online, by presenting our award-winning work on accessible stages and sites locally, nationally, and internationally
- keep exploring new ways of propelling the evolution of the dance ecology not only via new works but also through mentorship and training in integrated dance
We are so grateful to all of our local and national funders; to our colleagues at GCTC; and to everyone who is part of the extended Propeller family including our staff, our volunteers, the members of our Board, our teachers, our teaching assistants, our students and their families, and the members of our professional company.
After a decade of determination, join Propeller Dance this summer and all year long in celebrating 10 tremendous years of triumph.
Happy 10th birthday to us all!
